BingeRanked is a property of Hadley Media, which operates the site. This policy explains what BingeRanked and Hadley Media (“we”, “us”) collects when you use bingeranked.com and how we use it. We follow Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL).
What we collect
- Account details: your name, email address and username when you create an account.
- Facebook or Google sign-in: if you choose to sign in with Facebook or Google, that service shares your name, email address and profile picture with us, with your permission on their sign-in screen. We never receive your Facebook or Google password, and we do not post anything to your accounts. You can remove BingeRanked’s access at any time in your Facebook or Google account settings.
- Your activity: star ratings, shows you mark as watched, your watchlist and comments you post. Ratings are combined into public averages; your comments are public under your display name.
- Technical data: IP address, browser type and basic logs needed to run and secure the site, and cookies that keep you signed in.
Email newsletter
We only send our newsletter if you tick the opt-in box (it is never pre-ticked). We keep a record of when and how you agreed, as CASL requires. Every email identifies us, gives our contact details and includes a one-click unsubscribe link. You can also turn it off any time under My Account. We may still send essential account emails, such as password resets.
How we use it
To run your account, show your ratings and lists, calculate rankings, send the newsletter if you’ve opted in, prevent spam and abuse, and improve the site. We do not sell your personal information.
Who we share it with
Our web host (servers in North America), and Facebook or Google only for the sign-in you choose. We may disclose information if the law requires it.
Show data and images
Show information and images come from TVmaze under the CC BY-SA 4.0 licence. Images are stored on our own server, so loading a show page does not send your data to TVmaze. Some pages link to network or streaming sites; their own privacy policies apply once you leave BingeRanked.
Keeping and deleting your data
We keep your account data while your account is open. Email support@bingeranked.com to get a copy, correct it, or delete your account; we’ll respond within 30 days. Deleting your account removes your ratings and lists; you may choose whether your comments are deleted or anonymised.
Children
BingeRanked is not intended for anyone under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their information.
